Back in Maryland
The Jeep is in Alameda (San Fran area) getting fixed so I decided to fly back to Maryland for a week. The first night back I stood overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, felt the humidity and smelt the salty air and I instantly remembered why this is always going to be home for me. Alas… I’ll be heading back out to California soon so I can pick up the car and drive it to Colorado. It’s...
Daniel
I just ate lunch in downtown San Fran and got talking to Daniel, who kind of looks like Billy Joel at age 50. Turns out Daniel is a prophet and we talked at length about the upcoming destruction of LA and San Fran by rains of sulphur. The heat was not horrible but the exhaust, noise, and dirt from the passing cars was definitely not the company that he had hoped to keep that afternoon. In the 70s he had hitchiked all around the States without...
San Fran!
I got into the Bay Area earlier in the week and have been staying in East Bay with some Couchsurfers. Yesterday I bought a bike which will be good enough for me to ride cross country in August with my brother and my cousin Joe. I haven’t done more than a 50 mile day on a bike in my life so this trip will be very difficult for the first week. I am searching for a place in San Fran that will...
